What SEE TEFL publishes
Checked 21 October 2026 on SEE TEFL’s official fees and dates and four-week course pages. These are provider claims, not our independent measurements.
The published payment schedule is a US$495 deposit and US$900 balance, due on or before the first training day. Optional lodging is listed at US$400 single or US$450 double occupancy for 30 nights, subject to availability; meals are not included. The provider says training runs Monday–Friday over four weeks and groups are limited to 20 trainees. Confirm current dates, seat availability and what the course fee covers directly.
Training and certificate
SEE TEFL describes four weeks of onsite classroom-skills training in Chiang Mai, Thai language and cultural instruction, and six observed teaching practices with real students at local schools. It says the course awards its TEFL certification and offers an optional TQUK Level 5 certification extension.
The official public pages reviewed do not give a clear, current fee for the Level 5 extension or enough detail to independently establish how the extension’s assessment workload and qualification award compare with other Level 5 routes. Request the exact certificate title, awarding organisation, qualification number (if applicable), extension price, assessment and resubmission rules in writing. Then verify the award and ask target employers whether they accept it.
The number of practice sessions is useful context, but not a quality audit. Ask how long each practice lasts, how much of the six practices you teach yourself, who observes, whether you get written feedback, and whether cancellations or school access affect your guaranteed practice.
Job support and “guarantee” claims
SEE TEFL’s site uses “Job Guarantee” language for graduates of the 120-hour four-week onsite course and describes a separate internship as a guaranteed placement. Its job-guarantee page describes steps such as receiving school contacts, visiting schools and submitting a CV. The fees page separately describes the paid internship as a 4–5 month placement at a minimum salary of ฿35,000 per month.
These are provider statements, not independently verified hiring outcomes. The standard-course job-support claim and the paid internship offer are different arrangements. For graduates of its 120-hour four-week onsite course, SEE TEFL says native English speakers with a bachelor’s degree (any major) will be offered teaching work within two months of finishing training, if they follow its job-search steps. This is the provider’s stated guarantee; the public page does not set out a remedy if no offer is made. The provider describes the 4–5 month internship as a separate placement offer. These are provider statements, not independently verified hiring outcomes. Before relying on either arrangement, obtain the current written terms for your intake, including required job-search steps, what counts as an offer, any exclusions, and the remedy if no offer is made. Confirm any role, employer, location, start date, salary and paid months separately before accepting.
For the separate paid internship, SEE TEFL lists US$2,650 for a Chiang Mai placement and US$2,450 for an outside-Chiang-Mai placement, including training accommodation. That package is not the same as the US$1,395 four-week course. Confirm internship eligibility, hours, duties, contract, salary deductions, visa/work-permit responsibilities and cancellation/refund remedies before paying.
A course provider cannot guarantee Thai government approval of your individual visa, teacher authorization or work permit. Ask a prospective employer and the relevant authorities about your own case. Our guide to interpreting TEFL job-placement claims explains the questions to ask.
Who might consider it?
SEE TEFL may be worth comparing if you can spend four weeks in Chiang Mai, want in-person preparation with stated school practice, and value local support. Add travel, daily living costs and lodging to the course fee. The separate internship has a much higher price and should be evaluated as a work-and-training package with written employment terms.
Compare it with Essential TEFL in Bangkok for another in-person option and World TESOL Academy for self-paced online study. Read our format comparison and ask the employers you plan to approach which certificates and practice they value.
