These offers differ in location, delivery, qualifications and the kind of support described. A low online tuition fee is not directly comparable with four weeks of in-person training, accommodation or a paid placement.
| Provider | Format | Published starting price | Practice and support | Key caveat |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| World TESOL Academy | Online, self-paced | Official pages currently show different currencies and sale prices: $36 on the home/course navigation and £29 on a course listing for the 120-hour option; confirm checkout total. | Online tutor support; a separate free 36-hour practicum is selective. The provider says Fall 2026 applications are closed; the next round is not announced. | The self-paced certificate and practicum are separate. Neither indicates a Thailand placement. |
| Essential TEFL | Bangkok, in person | Standard ฿45,000; TQUK Level 5 ฿50,000 (reviewed 13 Oct 2026). | Provider describes supervised school practice and trainer feedback. Eligible graduates may receive interview support. | Four weeks in Bangkok; the school decides whom it hires. See the existing review for package eligibility and terms. |
| SEE TEFL | Chiang Mai, in person | Four-week course US$1,395; optional 30-night lodging US$400 single / US$450 double (official page reviewed 21 Oct 2026). | Provider lists six observed practices with real students; a separate 4–5 month paid internship includes a placement claim. | The standard-course offer applies to native English speakers with a bachelor’s degree; SEE says work will be offered within two months. Internship terms are separate. |
Prices are provider-published snapshots, not quotes. Currency conversion, promotions, taxes, deposit schedules and availability can change. World TESOL Academy’s current official pages do not display a consistent price or currency, so no single fixed price is asserted here.
How to compare fairly
- Ask target employers whether they accept the exact course and award, and whether training hours are a requirement.
- Separate tutor contact, guided learning, independent study and assessed practice. A “120-hour” label alone does not tell you how many lessons you will teach.
- Request written evidence for the exact qualification, awarding body, accreditation scope and any regulated qualification number.
- Read deposit, cancellation, refund, deferral and certificate-delivery terms before paying.
- Treat “job support,” an interview, a job placement and a paid internship as different promises. Ask who is eligible and what remedy applies if the service is not delivered.
- Budget for travel, accommodation, living costs and time before first pay. Course tuition is only one part of the decision.
A TEFL/TESOL certificate is evidence of training. It does not itself grant Thai teaching permission, immigration status, a work permit or employment. See our course-selection guide for the accreditation and employer checks, and our online vs in-person guide for format trade-offs.
